EMBER, Sword of the Furious Dragon

5,000 years ago a dragon was born, Ember, he was a rare dragon born from a black, fathered by a red. He was the first to hatch and upon, awakening to this world he his hunger new no bounds, Ember consumed all his brothers and sisters. He was born with more awareness than any dragon before; already he was a cunning wyrm he new that no dragon would stand against him as he grew in power, and did he grow he was a dark cloud tinged with red his massiveness gave him enormous advantage over other blacks he came across, even his mother was both proud and yet fearful of him. She new that if he continues on his frequent rampages and cunning ambushes, he would eventually destroy her just to gain her hoard, so in a show of power she attached him with hopes of destroying him before he did that very thing. Ember was not surprised he expected it, and had prepared. Ember was not only born with just acid breath, but born with fire in his bowels a secret he had kept to himself.

To be continued.

Who wants to take a stab at drawing Ember.

Thousands of Little Prepainted Treasures!

Lots more D&D Miniatures singles are now available!

Once again, you guys have outdone yourself. Every time I break open a dozen cases of miniatures, you guys descend upon them like a swarm of locusts devouring everything in its path. I went downstairs yesterday to help with some packing in the warehouse, and the Dungeons & Dragons Miniatures singles bins looked bleak and empty. So Jeff and I stayed late opening up another dozen cases of minis... [more]

Hexblades

clipped from www.wizards.com

Hex magic is a form of sorcery that manifests at a young age. It tends to occur in poorer areas where magical training and education are unavailable, though this is not always the case. Some embrace this ability, becoming evil or neutral hexblades bent on vengeance and retribution. Others fight it, seeking to transform their innate powers into something more positive. These youths tend to study sorcery in depth, becoming sorcerers and forsaking the dark blight of hex magic entirely. The former are more common -- the allure of hex magic is especially strong. They embrace a "might makes right" attitude, viewing academia as pointless, asceticism as foolish, do-gooders as deluded, and book-learners as weak.

Kuo-Toa

Kuo-Toa

These fishlike beings of the Underdark and the deeps inspire terror with their alien appearance and psyche. The cold, unblinking stare of their bulbous eyes and the horrific reek of decayed sea life that always hovers around them bring a chill to the spine of the most stalwart warrior. What goes on inside the inhuman minds of these cold-blooded creatures defies contemplation, and what ancient horrors they consort with in the deepest chasms of the world are better left unknown.

The Ruins of Undermountain

clipped from www.wizards.com

This is another adventure I can't tell you too much about. (Though you can check out its back cover text in last month's Previews article as well.) If you ever played through the old-school boxed module The Ruins of Undermountain or kept up with Matt Sernett's series of web features titled Return to Undermountain, you're already familiar with this infamous location. For the uninitiated, Undermountain is a vast, über-deadly labyrinth of corridors and rooms that lurks far beneath the Forgotten Realms city of Waterdeep.

Drizzt Do'Urden

Drizzt Do'Urden, I assume you know who I'm talking about, that certain Dark Elf (Drow pronounced akin to the cow sound) who forsook his race to follow the path of good. He left the wicked world of deep dark caverns known as the underdark, his home that was never truly home, Menzoberranzan. He's back in a great new book series.
